Deal Or No Deal: The Official PC Game is game based on the UK game show hosted by Noel Edmonds however in this game the host is a virtual Noel with the real Noel providing the voiceover. The format of the game mirrors the format of the show with the player trying to beat 'the Banker' as they open twenty two sealed boxes which contain randomly assigned sums of money inside ranging from 1p to £250,000. The game sees the player selecting one numbered box at the start of the game and eliminating remaining the boxes one by one. At various points 'the Banker' will offer a cash-out deal, the first offer comes after five boxes have been eliminated and thereafter offers come after every three eliminations. At the end of the game when the player is left with two boxes they may be offered the chance to swap their chosen box for the one other remaining box. One of the standard game options when considering the banker's offer is to see what the box opening contestants would do. This too is replicated in the game with the AI people shaking or nodding their heads as appropriate, Noel then summarises the poll results. One of the game's configuration options allows the player(s) to adjust the each of the contestants response to risk. The inlay claims six game modes, the single and multiplayer modes of the Normal Game are counted as two separate games:* Normal Game: this can be played as a single-player or a multiplayer game and it follows the format of the game show and is for one to four players. In a single player game the player wins if they beat the banker, i.e. the amount they accept in a deal is higher than the cash in their chosen box, or the amount they win is higher than the banker's offer. In the multiplayer game all players are given the chance to accept the banker's deal or continue playing, the victor is the player who wins the most money. Human Banker game: this too plays just like the show but it is for two to four players. One player takes the role of the banker and that player decides the amount to be offered, it's entered via the keyboard and not chosen from a pick list. The other player(s) play as though in the normal game, deciding whether or not to accept the banker's offer. If the player(s) win or settle for an amount that is lower than the contents of the box then the banker wins the game, if they win more than the banker's offer then the highest winner takes the game Banker vs PC: in this single game all the box selection is done by the game, all the player does is decide the deal on offer. If the game accepts a deal that is lower than the amount it could have won then the banker wins Cash Game: this is a variant of the Normal Game, it is for one to four players but the amounts range from 1p to just £50 Forfeit: in this game the players do not play for cash, they play for 'forfeits'. It's a game for one to four players and can be played as a family game, a Friends game or a Couples game with the forfeits being altered appropriately. Instead of blue and red indicating the low and high cash amounts they indicate the desirability of the forfeit, for example playing the Couples game the lowest/worst blue forfeit is 'Your partner decides what clothes you will wear for a week' while the highest/best red forfeit is 'Your partner will take you on holiday'. The game is played in the usual way with forfeits in the boxes instead of cash amounts, the banker's offers are red/blue forfeits too.
