The 3DS camera is used to scan barcodes and a fishing reel accessory called a Bakutsuri Bar Rod is used to catch the fish. The game itself was a free download from the Nintendo eShop. The player uses the camera to scan barcodes to open fishing spots, which allow them to fish for "bar soul" lifeforms.
