NHL 2000

The Face in the Game feature of NHL 2000 gives NHL fans the opportunity of a lifetime, to play among the pros of the NHL whenever they want, said Glenn Horine, group director for NHL Enterprises consumer product marketing. The NHL is always interested in exposing more people to the excitement on the ice, and EA SPORTS Face in the Game technology will do just that by attracting our traditional hockey fans as well as people who are new to the sport. NHL 2000 also features full Internet play, a first for the PC hockey genre, making it easier to compete against hockey fans from around the world. Straightforward menu options make it simple to find an opponent online and start playing a game quickly with as many as eight players. Chat rooms and matchup servers provide social and functional purposes and are a simple click on the menu screen. NHL 2000 s ten-year Career Mode is another first for hockey on the PC. It allows a player to build his team from scratch and control everything from drafts and trades to coaching and line adjustments in order to create a Stanley Cup contender over multiple seasons. From the start of the project, our goal was to create the most fun and best looking interactive NHL game ever, that also was easy to play, said Rory Armes executive producer of NHL 2000. We have a great time putting all of our faces in the game and competing against each other using our favorite teams. We think users will enjoy competing online utilizing the Face in the Game feature, too. Between our Face in the Game technology and our new ten-year Career Mode which is the most in-depth career mode we've ever done, players will not only be able to be in the game, but they can also manage their own NHL teams. These key features make NHL 2000 the most interactive and deep PC hockey game available. NHL 2000 is the ninth iteration of EA SPORTS award-winning NHL Series and has garnered more than 55 industry awards since its inception. An officially licensed NHL and NHLPA product, NHL 2000 contains all 28 NHL teams, their home arenas, an expansion draft for the Atlanta Thrashers and all of the NHL players. New motion-captured animations including new goal celebrations, faceoff expressions and penalty box reactions, and in game music featuring the hit single "Push It" performed by Garbage as well as music by Uberzone, Gearwhore and Rincerose, combine to make NHL 2000 a realistic gaming experience. St. Louis Blues Captain and avid video game player, Chris Pronger will support the marketing, sales and advertising campaign for NHL 2000. Pronger also discussed game design ideas at length with the production team to ensure that the NHL Series continues its long tradition of realistic hockey gaming.
