Capcom Generations doesn't appear as though it was meant to be a single package, but it is. While Japanese gamers were graced with each compilation separately, Capcom Generations in Europe features no less than four compilations in one. These include Capcom Generations: Wings of Destiny, Capcom Generations: Chronicles of Arthur, Capcom Generations: The First Generation and Capcom Generations: Blazing Guns. Capcom Generations: Wings of Destiny features 1942, 1943, and 1943 Kai. All three are vertical shooters where the player takes control of an aircraft in the thick of World War II combat. With an assortment of sea, land, and air enemies, as well as two-player options, new levels, power-ups and weapons in each title, Wings of Destiny aims to be the definitive vertical shooter compilation on the platform. The second disc features Capcom Generations: Chronicles of Arthur, which retraces the steps of the classic Ghosts 'N Goblins platforming saga. Titles on this disc include Ghosts 'N Goblins, Ghouls 'N Ghosts and the Super NES release of Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts. All titles allow you to control Arthur, a knight who must fight the ghosts, ghouls, and goblins in order to rescue the princess. Each title is a side-scrolling action-platformer with new weapons, power-ups, magic, visuals, and levels. Capcom Generations: The First Generation provides four of the first five titles Capcom ever released in the Arcades (1942 was the company's fourth release in December of 1984 but already appears on the first disc). Vertical shooting fans will welcome the inclusion of Vulgus, 1942's biggest influence and Capcom's first-ever Arcade title, and the lesser-known Exed Exes. Offbeat Japanese action is also delivered on this disc with Son Son and Higemaru. The fourth disc, Capcom Generations: Blazing Guns, is for those into the character-based shooter classics. With Commando, Mercs (referred to as Commando 2), and Western shooting action in Gunsmoke, this disc is for the serious retro shooting fan. Apart from being able play all these classics on your PlayStation, Capcom has also gone one step further and provided artwork, tips, options, and more on every single disc.
